Our Facilities
We have plenty of off-street parking
We are located within the Hillcrest High School grounds and are able to utilize the school Gymnasium and visit the school library, science labs and most of their facilities. The children love this.
We have a fantastic backyard complete with adventure playground, shade sail covered sandpit, plenty of shade and sun, loads of bikes for all ages, swings, slides, ramps, a huge amount of outdoor toys, and even trees and grass and a vege garden.
Philosophy
Hillcrest High School Community Childcare Centre (inc) management and staff believe in promoting the holistic learning and development of each child, in partnership with parents/guardians, whanau, and the Hillcrest High School Community, through the provision of high quality early childhood education and care. We believe in the unique place of Maori as tangata whenua and the principle of partnership inherent in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Through providing a mixed age setting in park like grounds and the implementation of a resource based, child initiated learning environment, based on the early childhood curriculum Te Whaariki, we believe children grow and develop, secure in their sense of belonging, as happy, healthy and confident communicators who make valued contributions.
Management believe in recruiting and retaining trained and experienced staff in order to provide quality early learning programmes.
